ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
My name is Lofred Madzou and I’m an expert on AI governance. Currently, I’m the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Truera – an AI Quality platform to explain, debug and monitor machine learning models, leading to higher quality and trustworthiness.
Before, I was an AI Lead at the World Economic Forum where I supported leading companies, across industries and jurisdictions, in their implementation of responsible AI practices as well as advised various EU and Asia-Pacific governments on AI regulation.
Previously, I was a policy officer at the French Digital Council, where I advised the French Government on AI policy. Most notably, I co-drafted the French AI National Strategy.
On January 2021, I was appointed research associate at the Oxford Internet Institute (my Alma Mater). My primary focus is the governance of AI systems through audit processes. My other main area of research is the philosophy and ethics of AI, where I investigate to what extent AI systems can match or outperform human expertise and the moral implications of this possibility. My approach is informed by the work of leading phenomenologists such as Martin Heidegger, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Hubert Dreyfus.
